About Me:
Hi my name’s Jonathan. I believe that every student has the potential to excel, even if they struggle at first. My tutoring approach focuses on breaking down complex ideas, building confidence, and fostering critical thinking so students can develop independent problem-solving skills. Seeing students overcome challenges and grow into their abilities is what inspires me to teach.
Education & Relevant Training:
- B.A. Political Science, Spanish w/ a Minor in Sociology – University of Michigan
Experience:
- I have tutored Spanish, and English in high school and in college. In my preparations for Law School I have written hundreds of essays in English and Spanish and studied for countless hours honing in my skills and abilities to be able to teach them to others.
Teaching Philosophy:
I focus on breaking down difficult concepts and creating a supportive learning environment where students can build confidence. My goal is to strengthen their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, empowering them to learn independently. With the right guidance, I help students overcome obstacles and achieve success.
Hobbies and Interests:
- I love sports and outdoor activities such as golf, football, baseball and tennis. Additionally I enjoy watching critically acclaimed television series like Band of Brothers and Better Call Saul.
Future Goals:
I am currently waiting to hear back from the Law Schools. I hope to be a civil litigation attorney working in a firm in the midwest. A personal ambition of mine is to stay where there is snow because there is nothing better than Michigan winter.
