Community Support – College Volunteer

Support Focus:
Operations, Event Planning, Social Media

About Me:

Hi! I’m Brooke, a first-year student at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Financial Management. My interest in business started back in high school, where I loved learning about finance and entrepreneurship. That early spark led me to pursue a field where strategy, creativity, and leadership come together. I may not be tutoring, but I love helping build strong programs from the ground up.

Education & Relevant Training:

  • First-Year Business Administration Major at Cal Poly SLO
  • Concentration: Financial Management
  • High school coursework in business and finance
  • Currently exploring leadership, budgeting, and event coordination through campus orgs

Experience:

  • Assisted with coordinating and promoting school recitals and dance shows
  • Social media content support for student-led events
  • Current volunteer with NextGen Matters supporting operations and event outreach

Volunteer Philosophy:

I’ve been really fortunate in my life, and I believe it’s important to give back—especially to younger students who are just beginning to find their path. Even if I’m not in the spotlight, I’m passionate about supporting the work that helps others grow, learn, and succeed.

Hobbies and Interests:

Going to the beach, exploring new food spots, thrifting and fashion, traveling, and spending time with my friends and family

Future Goals:
My dad is an entrepreneur, and I’ve always admired his drive and creativity. I’m inspired to follow in his footsteps and eventually run a successful business of my own—one that blends purpose, innovation, and impact.
