About Me:

Hello! My name is Joshua. I am a rising freshmen currently about to attend Villanova University as part of the 7 – Year Bio-Dental Consortial Program with the University of Pennsylvania. I like to play basketball and golf! I strive to be a mentor that students can not only rely on, but also sees as a positive figure. My tutoring philosophy is to encourage independence and teach students responsible and good study habits while laying down essential foundations to set them up for success.

Education & Relevant Training:

  • 1560 SAT superscore
  • 5s on AP Chemistry, AP Calc BC, AP English Language and Composition, and AP Computer Principles,
  • Certification in Radiation and Safety Techniques from the Los Angeles Dental Society meaning I can perform X-rays.

Experience:

  • I taught STEM projects and concepts to middle school and elementary school students all across LA county as a curriculum developer for STEMsters, a non-profit organization built on inpsiring the next generation on STEM. Also managing a youth group at Church, teaching them responsibilities and how to act.

Teaching Philosophy:

I believe in helping students learn how to solve problems by working through examples and thinking independently. I encourage creativity in problem-solving because it strengthens critical thinking and promotes a deeper understanding of concepts.

Hobbies and Interests:

  • I like to play Golf and recently went to state CIF to compete and our team managed to get 6th overall.
  • I also play basketball and like to go to gyms, parks, and beaches to go play.
  • I also like to watch YouTube content on cooking shows, and different interesting documentaries.
